A Message & Podcast From Leupold's CEO

DETERMINED. BOLD. RELENTLESS.

The American spirit shines brightest when our backs are against the wall. We’ve proven it time and time again. Through wars, natural disasters, and economic collapses, we've always shown a sense of grit and ingenuity when it’s needed most.

It’s the same self-reliant spirit Fred Leupold had when he started his Oregon-based company 113 years ago. And, it’s what keeps our factory performing today.

Over the last century, we've led the charge in developing the most innovative products in the optics category. From creating the famed duplex reticle to being the first to offer a lifetime guarantee to engineering our tried and true Custom Dial System, our optical technicians and manufacturers have always set the standard for rugged performance and reliability.

We've also earned a responsibility to the United States Armed Services as a Defense Industry Base contractor. Our duty to equip and support our military forces is as resolute as our commitment to designing, machining, and assembling every riflescope we sell right here in Beaverton, Oregon.

We are a family-owned company that employs hundreds of hardworking Americans, all of whom, share the same relentless spirit that built Leupold and Stevens from the ground up over five generations ago.

Independence and agility are what sets us apart. We can engineer and then re-engineer at a moment's notice. We can design, test, and make improvements before other companies get their first shipments from across the ocean.

We embrace our duty as a true American manufacturer to support our country, our troops, and our neighbors with the same intensity that we would support and protect our own families.

AN INSIDE LOOK INTO LEUPOLD'S AMERICAN MANUFACTURING

A QUICK LOOK AT LEUPOLD AND THE U.S. MILITARY

Today, most optics brands have a "tactical" scope line or at least features that are derived from tactical scopes. But where did it all start?

Before the early 80s, soldiers were still using hunting-style riflescopes in combat. While very functional, the military discovered these optics had shortcomings. They needed dedicated tools, designed specifically for combat situations - enter Leupold Optics.

Working in conjunction with the military, we developed the ultimate battlefield-capable scope - the ULTRA. This scope is the foundation of what would become Leupold's legendary Mark series and our long-standing relationship with the U.S. military.
